I wait all day for a City Link courier parcel to arrive, I'm desperate for the loo, but I wait and wait. Then nature wins, and I must go upstairs. I sit down, go "Aaaaah" as relief hits me, and the inevitable happens.... the BLOODY DOORBELL RINGS.

Eventually with clothes pulled up and crookedly in place, I go downstairs and answer the door.

Looking out the window at the building site which used to be a university complex and which is now a Barratt's development. What do I see? One fella, yellow hat, work clothes ingrained with soil and cement, working his nadgers off. Overseen by three white hats, standing around in their pristine clean yellow jackets doing... well, ... nothing. No, I tell a lie, O'Toole the worker has inadvertantly flicked a bit of soil onto yellow coat's shiny Doc Martin's and YC has had to wipe it off carefully.

No wonder the houses are commanding a price a few Welsh groats short of half a million quid.
