We Have A Spook!!

and I'm not joking!  

2 weeks ago I was up at 5.30am, made a cup of tea, opened the kitchen window to let the cats out, went into the lounge through the connecting door (which we always leave wide open) and sat down to enjoy my cuppa....flicking through the tv channels with the remote control, I saw the connecting door to the kitchen and lounge slowly close....now the door opens inwards from the kitchen, I had no windows open in the lounge, I got up and opened it again and dismissed the silly thoughts in my head.

2 days after again I was up around 6am, again the same routine, cuppa, kitchen window open, tv and remote....again the door slowly closed, this time I said "now open it" within seconds the door slowly opened and I think to myself 'right ok!'

Yesterday morning my daughter is downstairs and I'm upstairs cleaning the bathroom sink etc then go and wipe down my daughter's bedroom windowsill then go in my bedroom to clean mine, the 3rd drawer down of the chest of drawers where I keep the bathroom hand towels was almost halfway open....I didn't open it so called down the stairs asking my daughter if she had got a towel out of the drawer, she said no....
Now I'm thinking I'm losing the plot!

This morning I'm sat in the lounge and my daughter's in the kitchen making us both a cuppa and I'm reading messages on my phone, I then heard a little noise and from the corner of my eye I saw something fly by me and clatter against my walking stick that's between our 2 sofas, I looked at the little glass topped table we use to put our cups on (the table is in front of the sofas) and I'm trying to work out what's fallen off, couldn't see what it was so looked down to the small space between the sofas and there's my pen that I keep on the little table laying against my walking stick!

Now the pen I always sit it in the groove of the glass top table (far edge) and about 3" in front of the pen is a test tube that the Dr gave me for a you know what  and is stood upright....and here's the question...how did that pen fly off the table in an arched fashion and about a 2ft distance without knocking the test tube over??
We have no road at the front or back of our house so no heavy traffic going by to cause vibrations, there was only one cat in the lounge who was asleep on the sofa and rudely woken up and I've got my legs up on the sofa.

Both me and my daughter tested the table, put the pen back in it's place, tapped the table hard and gently wobbled it, the pen didn't move 


Any logical thoughts anyone?

wasn't being funny about the cats - cats working together can make quite an awesome twosome

I know, they do team up when planning mischief especially when trying to get to the cat biscuits  
and it's usually our eldest who's the ringleader in that little plot  

It was just so weird, we didn't hear a thing 

LG. sounds wierd, if i was you, i put on my best Alf Garnet voice, and tell the silly moo there in the wrong house aint they

Flicking through the tv channels - there was a programme on house restoration - and they were showing photo's of how bad it used to be - and there were "orbs" in those photo's - some people believe they are spirits.....


You could try taking photo's randomly - see if any orbs show up - I doubt it - but its something you could try

That is an idea but we had another peaceful day again yesterday, but if it kicks off again I shall definitely try that

LG before you take a Photo of maybe a film, leave a nice cream bun out, you never know. If your place is new, you could try to find out, what stood there before, or maybe the history of the place, god knows where you would start, but you never know, you could well have a spook.

As far as I know Knottingley where we are was an anglo saxon settlement and was used as a river port, the houses here are council but a lot of them have been bought and rented out, one of my nbrs moved here in the 70s so it's possible the houses have been here since the early 60s if not a bit before.

LG you could start off at the council, planning, they must have some history of the ground where they built flats and houses, just a thought, or maybe someone WHO knows something about ghosts, all i can say is England nearly scored, in a manner of speaking they ghosted the polish goal

Stumpy the council offices are in Pontefract, way too far for me to venture I'm afraid the furthest I go is to the Drs and that's by cab, the buses run every half hour and for me to stand for half an hour is impossible for me to do 

G i understand, but dont they have a contact line with a e-mail address. I ask as over here they do. What about doing a search on ghost sightings or ghostly Things in your area. Just a thought

there's nothing wrong in not-knowing

I did search lol! and Knottingley Town Hall which is about a 20min walk from us has regular ghost hunt meetings, apparently the Town Hall has had sightings of monks and victorian children over many years.

The people who organise these ghost hunts claim to be paranormal experts....I bet they are at £30 a ticket!  

People shouldn't play about with things they know nothing about, try to communicate with spirits makes them an open vessel that attracts not so nice spirits, it also leaves a residual energy which can spread.

There was also a known poltergeist activity in a house in Pontefract years ago, to this day each time the house is bought the owners move out within a year and it stands empty again.

It was quite interesting tbh

Anyway the pen flying conundrum... I think it was a build up of ink gas, quite a common problem, made it wiz across the room...Google ink gas, its true I tell ya ... Failing that you got a GHOST ! AAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH ! you'll ave to move back to Clackton....Crawley.....CROYDON !

And the ink gas would make it fly by me in an arched flight?

Oh yes, sounds quite normal to me.... Nothing to worry about there. Allthough my mum reckons she's seen her dead cat Wally a couple of times in her house. And she's not mental or anything, she quite certain she's seen him faintly trotting along the hall way.

And I do remember once loosing me glasses for 2 days, searched everywhere, and then I just found em on the table next to me chair... THEY WERNT THERE I TELL YA ! id ave seen em, even without me glasses. weird.

Any ideas on the drawers of the chest of drawers?

Maybe one drawer pulled open but not pull one right out.

You definitely need to call the professionals  

Just so you know, if I come to visit again you are sleeping with the ghost....I get the cats!  LOL
