| Thoughts Of Cremation
When I die I’m going to be cremated I don’t know why but I feel there’s something wrong In wanting to be buried I don’t think its got anything to do with being strong
Why do we bury sick bodies into the ground I often wonder if we are contaminating mother earth The graveyard, its more like a human compound Seems a strange way to go after birth
All those poor souls that have been buried Does their sickness die or be it allowed to spread When we die, in a sense we have been freed I often think of the grave yard as ones deathbed
I don’t want my death bed to be a cold lonely resting place You would think worms would want something more tastier Sorry sad faces visit the compound base If I’m just remembered, that will be better
Cremation and a puff of smoke Memories remembered, and warmly told Stories passed on to homefolk And not too extolled

| Buried or cremated it doesn't really matter, the soul is set free at the time of passing. I've had experience of being with ppl when they've died or just died and it does feel like that they are still present so I would open a window which is a thing my Irish relatives would do, the belief is that the soul would then be free to go, it's amazing how the room begins to feel calm and peaceful after opening a window Our bodies are organic so either way we return to nature. "Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am the thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints in the snow, I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. As you awake with mornings hush, I am the swift up flinging rush Of quiet birds in circling flight.... I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there..... I did not die." Authorship attributed to Mary Frye. | |

| I want to be Cremated but my mom had a fit when she heard that but think of all the olden days they had Funeral Pyres and didnt bury the dead!! Like LadyG said your soul is gone and only a shell remains so I think it is normal
Ash to ash and dust to dust all things return to the earth!! | |

| LG thats a nice piece or writing. I Wonder if in time churches will charge extra for bodies to stay in their premises. You know a cheap funeral, maybe done like a screen savers or something, and then hit the deceased family members for money every month. One would of thought this could have been a conservative thought | |

| Well there's the cardboard coffin now, the family can keep it plain or decorate it themselves. My dad wants that and no funeral or service, just straight to the crematorium and done, he wants the money that would pay for a funeral to be spent on a big party for everyone...and he's serious too | |

| LG. That’s what I want to do, something quick and simple, when my Dad died I thought it was a long winded service. The coffin was in front of everyone, to be honest I rather go without the service, get it done with as fast as possible, hence everyone can go down the pub | |

| I've heard it said that when the body is just about to reach the furnace the intense heat makes it sit up...creepy thought eh? | |
