| Did anyone watch this on Weds?? The main focus on this weeks episode was of a Romanian guy who is living in the U.K and is working in a low paid job, he is married and has children but they are still living in Romania. He is able to claim Tax Credit because of his low paid job, he is also claiming Child Tax Credit, Child Benefit and Housing Benefit, with his earnings his income is £14000 a year. The benefits he is receiving are being used to renovate his family home in Romania. He and his wife had a new addition to the family, a son and when the son reached 1 year old the whole family came to the U.K and the new child was taken to the Benefits Office so they could claim Child Benefit and Child Tax Credit for him bringing an extra £500 a month in their income. This guy is so happy and thanked England for the FREE money. Can anyone else besides me see what's wrong with the portrayal of this happy Romanian family?? | |

| I find this a difficult subject to discuss LG as inevitably someone will feel insulted. I watched with interest the programme in question, and know dam well if that was my family living in poverty, and those same options were open to me..I wouldn't hesitate! What else can you say about it really ? It is painful to watch our country falling apart, even more so watching elderly relatives who have worked hard all their days and paid their dues [well not just the elderly Me as well] and then living in the same poverty trap...with no options! Who's to blame ? Its an endless Question with no remedy it seems. Our Government...What a Joke it all is. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, its just a shame that some people don't know where to Shove-it. Mayflower. | |

| I see what you're saying Mayflower but to my thinking the family can't be living in that much poverty or they would all be living here together, but they are basically using the British Benefit System to enrich their lives in Romania, but what I don't understand is....on benefit application forms there is the question 'Do you own property abroad?'.... if you answer Yes it would affect the persons claim so how is the happy chappy getting all his benefits if he owns property in his home country?

| That's most probably because he wont fill in the same benefit forms British people have to. There will be a different set of rules for others, as the home office will view their needs to be different from ours. Wright/wrongly What a Joke I try not to think about it LG because nothing I can ever say or do or Vote...will ever make any difference. I do care about others, I recognise peoples struggles, but I also care about my country and the people in it first and foremost. | |

| I know this refugee who has been living in Denmark, for years, and he has a big house in Africa, which he has paid for whilst being on social security in Denmark. What I don't understand is how can you be a political refugee, and go for summer holidays in your own country | |
