D-Day.............

D-day.... a word that I've used many a time but never knew what the D stands for.
Today I googled it and was left feeling deflated at the meaning.

I assumed it meant Deliverance day?

What did you think it meant.. (without googling)

 Deliverance day sounds good, I never really gave the D much thought before to be Honest with you      Deciding, Destiny, Disinfecting, I suppose really it means differing things to all who were there or took part as well as the official meaning   

I never ever thought about what the D meant

 

with all the services etc going on - and in these times of being too d*** afraid of offending anyone ....

isn't it racist of us to exclude Germany and japan - or are they there !!!

 Mrs P   Merkel of Germany was invited and made very welcome at the D.Day Ceremony and was seen in deep discussion with Russia's Putin, Obama and Putin how ever seemed wary of each other, Germany to lost many Men they after all the common Soldier was as much a victim of the times as any other caught up in WW11 it was just that they were born German and were caught up in war caused by their so called leaders Adolf Hitler and his followers in the Nazi party, some say it was their fault electing him to power and allowing him to take the German peoples to War, but the same could be said of some of our leaders who we elected and also took us to war since WW11, So the same could be said for the U.S.A. and others, seems there is a war going on some where in the World every year its Man's greatest folly will we all ever learn to just live in peace with each other and settle our differences in a more calmer and  peaceful way, we can all live in hope that this will be so one day     as for the Japanese not taking part, well this is due to the fact that they took no part in the war in Europe or the D.Day landings, their war was in Asia and that war did not finish until a year after the war in Europe, the end of war with Japan is known as V.J. Day
