| well what do you think about all the gambling now going on in British society some people find that they have a addiction to any form of gambling, once it was just football pools or Horse or dog racing, then casino's reared their Heads bringing the wheel, card's, dice etc, then the lotto, soon to be twice a week, then the Euro that to soon became twice a week, then a scratch card soon to become multiple scratch cards so many I have not got a clue as to the exact amount available to the public, now we get offers of free online introductions to various gaming sites, even on our Mobiles and even TV adds offering even more Gambling we are being deluged with all forms of Gambling how many more addicts have been created, how many more lives have been ruined because of Gambling, yes I do have a flutter now and again, yes I do have a go on the Euro or lotto within reason that is,i see now that those in charge of the lotto have put the price up from a £1 a go to £2 ago, well bugger that iv gone now, still have a go on the Euro but the lotto is now a no go and if the Euro go's up in price so to will the Euro be a no go,i gave up the football pools long ago and only have a go on the Horse racing now and then, my old man liked a bet now and then also, but he all ways told me there is nothing wrong with having a bet, but if you do only use that money you can afford, but if its needed for any thing else then don't, because the only real winner is the bookmaker well some like myself don't let if I have a flutter control me, but some others Gambling soon becomes a part of their lives and become addicted to it,is it time that the powers that be put a lid on the amount of coverage gambling is allowed to dominate our life's and another issue that seems to becoming all to frequent now is porn that to is now thrown at you just as soon as you switch on a computer, or Tv late night programs seem to now be dominated with sexually explicit sceans of sex have things now gone to far, Old lord Longford who for those of a certain age would remember as a campaigner for morality on our TV screens during the sixties would no doubt be turning in his grave now if he can see what's now happening. | |

| YES Mr B. The lotto has made a nation of gamblers of us. We're made to feel good - because of monies going to charities - and there's the "health" lottery - I think it gives struggling brits a little hope with the slogan "it could be you" and yes the tv is full of gambling ad's - they must be worthwhile or the companies wouldn't be shelling out to show them on prime time. | |

| Yes Mrs P. The powers that be are making quite a lot of money out of Gambling, and not all is going to good causes as they say, that is just to justify it, those that run the lotto etc and the Government are making a mint by tapping into man's prime instinct in this modern World of ours, our Basic instinct that is Greed, Greed has quite a pull to a lot of people world wide not just in these little Islands of ours, if you can convince some one that they have a chance to make a life changing amount of cash for little out lay, then they are going to go for it, the thing is though some do win, and their life's change out of all proportion and those that run the lotto even cash in on their good fortune by advertising the fact to encourage others to have a go by saying and it could be YOU. Now though they are getting even more Greedy by slowly creeping up the price of the ticket, if any one says that though all they say is well look what you could win with such a small out lay, and just to cushion the effect of any rise in price they offer a few pounds more in the lower price range of a small win just to try and keep people playing, I even still play, but have given up lotto and now just play the EURO, if they put that up also then I wont even play that, im wondering to with this Health lottery just how much actually gets through to the N.H.S. after those that run it and the Government has taken their cut out of it oh and don't forget now they advertise the post code lottery now as well whats next I wonder | |

| YES. Mr B.
AGAIN. No published figures of accounts. Same as giving to charities - we do - when we can - BUT - there's NO available published figures of accounts - or am I a meanie for suggesting I'd like to see where the money goes -
its like "pop goes the weasel".
I doubt any of them would dare. We all know it dos'nt ALL get to whom we give for - BUT what % gets to those in need - I'd guess at 25%. | |
