| I was watching a program not long ago which depicted the old spandu prison that once stood housing old Rudolf Hess, you know Adolfs old mate who parachuted into Scotland during the war, that was an other trip down that long winding lane again cos I did quite afew stints up in those towers as well, all of them at one time or another, and on the front door,he use to look up at us when he came into the garden, yes he had a garden in there, not a pretty one with flowers etc, just a plane one with a path which we used as well when changing guards, there were stories of the haunted tower and and other things etc,and rats as big as cats right big buggers I can tell yer,the opps room use to use the intercom to bug you with these stories and ask if you were wet and like a cuppa when it was pouring down with rain knowing how you could not take shelter, not allowed inside that little square room you walked around the outside of,so you took it out on the locals, see there were these blocks of flats on one side and we had a little search light, and well you guest it,i was a dab hand at upsetting those residents with that light early hours of the morning its prob not there any more,it was said they intended to demolish that old prison when he snuft it,and well he did snuff it so its now prob gone same as him. | |

| Just as well, it wouldn't have been a proud or nice historic landmark to keep if Hess had used it | |

| I was on about the open space between the East and the west L.G. That is now used as a Tourist attraction from what iv heard not were the prison once stood,it was an area of open ground that people had to try and get across then try and get over the wall to freedom, some did some did not, thats why it was called the killing ground:cl2: | |

| Still a bit ghoulish to me, I can understand ex prisoner of war and their families visiting old nazi camps, it was a major part of their lives, a horrific one....I don't know, for me I would be able to visualise the scenes and it would haunt me for a long time. | |

| Its now all just History L.G.but like every thing that is confined to History that those of the today say we will draw lessons from,we never do do we History has a knack of keeping repeating its self, and so we wait for WW 111 and when that is finished and dusted number four will not be far behind that is what the Human race has learnt from the past nothing else | |
