| I went to my control panel, and deleted yahoo chat as i never use it, hence my old laptop works a little better. I have also noticed that I have loads of Microsoft visual C ++2005. 4 of them, and Microsoft visual C ++ 2008. 4 of them as well and Microsoft visual C ++ 2010. 2 of them. Is it safe to delete the 2005 and 2008 or what? And also Windows live mesh what is this? For remote conn. I have loads in different languages as well, do I really need these on my laptop? I don't use Chat anymore, so what is safe to delete. I only use Skype now. | |

| HI L.G. To be honest i have no idea. I use to have MSN but not anymore, i only speak mostly with Family and friends on Skype and thats it. I just realised i must still have the msn like Yahoo chat on my computer, maybe best just to delete and reinstall and then install only skype | |

| Windows Live Mesh was a file sharing program, I Googled it as never heard of it, apparently it was discontinued and replaced with something else. With the Microsoft Visual, Google each one to make sure you are not using a program that requires them or go to the Microsoft website and search them It could be they may have been updates for the Windows Live Mesh as you haven't anymore after 2010. | |

| LG thanks for the info and suggestion, I will probably get lost in it all. I might learn something though, I just have to hope it doesn’t go out of date before I have learnt anything about it | |

| I wish you could just let Mirco soft take control of your computer and auto look at your programs, and deleat any that are not needed any more while at the same time update and give your system a boost then you would be able to keep every thing in order running tickurdy boo | |

| All you need to do is Google each one and it should tell what program they were for If you're not sure if the program or programs are still installed on your laptop then use search on your laptop, if no files found, then delete them | |
