Remember
I can remember I didn’t have a lot of toys
But I did have a lot of fun
Playing football with the other boys
And just getting stoned in the sun
I remember I had to go school
Getting caned for the playing the fool
Smoking cigarettes behind the school shed
Looking up the skirt of the school head
I remember at 15 getting my first job
Working in a bakery for a few bob
When they found out my age I got fired
Luckily there were many jobs and I soon got rehired
Do you remember when you were young
Can you remember the songs you sung
Do you remember when you lost your virginity
And since then can you remember how many
I remember my Grandmother and Granddad
In the war he was a bit of a lad
Gran was Gran, small and very strong willed
Tell her a secret and her lips were sealed
I have always remembered to remember
The lessons life has had to offer
I remember Dad saying as life goes on you get older
Maybe if one is lucky, you might find the right answer
