Ode to a slug

First topic message reminder :

I found a slug
and called it Doug
lobbed it in the bath
and pulled the plug.

Just follow the salt
and if you sizzle
don't look at me
it's all his fault

 

Ode to the wondrous slimy slug
a lettuce and flower muncher bug
he greet's the gardener with a smile
cos he did not eat the pellet vile
he let the snail sail through
he bit the pellet and let slug through
and gaily he ate the lettuce leaf
then befor dawn he made a rush
homeward bound his slime trail lead
but the gardener found him and now
he is dead.

 

Slug rest in peace
Mrs Slug is here
and with a tear
eats a lettuce leaf.

Don't cry or I may have to ressurect Wilf the Wasp  

No slugs this year
as they drank all the beer
chucked them away
and wiped away me tear

but now its doing back stroke
at bottom of an old beer mug.

Oh an Ode to a humble Slug. Shakespeare inspired. If only the slugs knew of it. Wonderful stuff. 

Slugs are often overlooked as they aren't as cute as fluffy kittens or puppies.
If you can give a slug a home over winter and give them a salt free diet,the rewards are plentiful...

Remember a Slug is for life , not just Christmas !!!

I think they have feelings too   Do they?? Anyway's remember to check around your drive before you move your vehicle, as they could be resting on route to poundland...  * Save Our Slugs *  

 I pamper all the slugs and snails within my garden they feast on slug pellets every night when it rains and all for free to they can eat their fill as much as they like, funny though I think they must have lost their appetite for my flowers and lettuce etc they much prefer those pellets pretty little blue ones they are. 

That's because they think those little blue pills are Viagra.....  

So...your the person responsible for so many of the dam things 

 Mayflower those blue pellets are killers and no use for the sex life of a snail or slug I can guarantee you that, they may first experience a sense of joy as they munch on one of those pellets  and be filled with a feeling of well being before forming a que at the pearly gates to be issued with a hallo and harp or what ever snails and slugs get at the pearly gates, maybe a lettuce leaf of two, then again Saint Peter might have a can of blue pellets as well waiting for them to send them back down to us because no matter how many I snuff out there all ways seem to be ten times as many come back come a rainy night to attack my flower beds.
